Practice

Image hosting by Photobucket

This is drawing practice again. i have thing for fonts. (don't make fun) this one is pretty great. I think it's kind of my fav at the moment. It's called "cast iron" and you can get it at www.dafont.com if you like it too. I know the spacing is a bit off but soemtimes I'm not picky enough for my own good. Also the girl looks a littlefunny but I need to practice drawing girls too. I'm just not great at it. I'm mostly good at cartoons and ugly/old/wrinkly people. Not really so talented at pretty. I can manage cute animals but not pretty girls. As a side story i drew this while watching Lethal Weapon II at 2 am, then inked it the next day watching Lethal Weapon II . . . again. Not so much due to my intense love of Lethal Weapon (I do like Lethal Weapon, don't get me wrong) but because the night before Rena fell asleep an missed 3/4 of the movie. The funny part is, she fell asleep the second time around also.  : )

I should probably also start using a ruler, compass etc. My lines are wobbly and my O's a gooby. Maybe someday I can call myself an artist. Back to work.

Rock on.

Funny... I'm pretty good at drawing really pretty people, but not so good at drawing really ugly or funny looking people.

I'm really good at drawing people named Dave. Not sure why just am. I'm also really good at drawing blood. I'll let that sink in.

Nice work Chris. From reference or magination? You need to fix the html thing tho...I can only see about half of her face cuz of the page layout.

P.s. Watch the movie Ryan. It kicks ass. Wool Cap with William H Macy is pretty cool two, but you didn't like The Cooler, so not sure if you'd dig this.

P.P.S: How's school going?

I think everyone should be good at drawing poeople named Dave. They're all so attractive and manly that it only stands to reason that they would be extremely easy to draw. I mean you could just write the name Dave and think wow thats really beautiful. We Dave's are lucky that our beauty is tempered just ever so slightly otherwise we'd be so powerful that no one could draw us...or say our name...or write our name...or even THINK our name without their head caving in a leaving a now lonely stump where a stunning thought once occured.

Rock on Chris you are a most excellent artist. Hope all is well with you duder. My email appears not to be working right now and hence you get this dribble instead.

Beauty is in Dave's eye...and no where else Chuck Norris.

At some point in Bishop's remote past there was a remarkable course, the focus of which was lettering. There is in the Molson building a box full of font samples created by several classes of talented Bishop's students. I know this, because I have seen it. It was for some time stored in the pottery room, below the glazes.

Then one day the box disappeared. Professor Madokoro may have placed it somewhere else, but he is not likely to divulge that information, seeing that he is dead - a handicap which has proved to be extremely frustrating for the entire campus community. Professor Madokoro was a wonderful soul who never failed to make me feel bad about not being in Fine Arts, so that even now I feel like I've wasted my life.
